Saturday helicopter lifts scheduled during June 2022
Current Works
Friday 27th May 2022
Works will be carried out at SIMTA’s Moorebank Intermodal Terminal worksite during Saturdays in June 2022.
SIMTA contractor, Richard Crookes Constructions will be overseeing a program of helicopter lifting to deliver plant and equipment to the rooftop of a warehouse within the precinct.
These works will be undertaken during standard working hours on Saturdays between 8am and 1pm, commencing from Saturday 18 June, weather permitting.
The works will take place at Moorebank Precinct West (west of Moorebank Avenue) and involve short helicopter lifts within the site, lowering, and delivery of solar panel loads and related equipment. Refuelling will also be undertaken as required.
This work has been scheduled outside of weekday construction hours for safety reasons as the rest of the site must be closed during the helicopter lifts.
What to expect
Noise
This work will create additional background noise.
The contractor will make every effort to minimise noise generation and disturbance to nearby residents and businesses as much as practically possible, however nearest properties in Casula and Wattle Grove are likely to experience periods of noise impacts due to the nature and location of the helicopter lifts.
We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Traffic
Moorebank Avenue will remain open at all times. Any proposed traffic associated with the helicopter lifting activity will be minimal. Delivery will be made to the site prior to the commencement of lifting operations.
