Moorebank Avenue traffic changes to continue from March
Current Works
Wednesday 28th February 2018
CPB Contractors will continue work in March to build a rail underpass beneath Moorebank Avenue to allow trains to move between the Southern Sydney Freight Line and the Import/Export Terminal being built on Moorebank Logistics Park Precinct East.
Since late January, the worksite for this activity has been located immediately north of the rail crossing and some traffic changes have already occurred.
Construction of the underpass will continue to occur in stages, with traffic lane configurations changing as the work progresses.
At times, the road will be reduced to one lane with Stop/Go in operation under the direction of traffic controllers. When this happens, it will occur outside of peak times – after 10am and before 3pm on weekdays, or on weekends.
This will include out-of-hours work at times to realign traffic lanes and carry out linemarking.
Boom gates will also be in use at times, to allow construction vehicles to move between the east and west sides of Moorebank Avenue.
Variable Message Sign boards (VMS) on Moorebank Avenue at both the northern and southern approaches to the worksite will be updated with the latest information as traffic arrangements change throughout the duration of the work.
Please exercise caution while driving in the area, pay attention to VMS messages and obey traffic controllers.
