Diversion of Moorebank Avenue from Saturday 10 July 2021

Current Works
Friday 2nd July 2021

As part of the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal development, all vehicles travelling on Moorebank Avenue will be detoured along a temporary diversion road instead of the existing roadway from Saturday 10 July 2021, weather permitting.

While the diversion was planned to begin Sunday 4 July, as previously notified, wet weather conditions caused the date to be revised to Saturday 10 July.

The temporary diversion road runs parallel to the west of existing road alignment for two kilometres, joining the existing roadway immediately south of Anzac Road and at Anzac Creek (see map here).

Preparatory work including relocation of traffic signals, movement of traffic barriers, pavement of road surface, and marking of new lines will be undertaken prior to the diversion.

This work will be completed from Thursday 1 July to Saturday 10 July 2021 between the hours of 6pm and 7am to maintain the safety and convenience of all road users.

Lane closures and other traffic controls will be in place while preparatory work is completed. If travelling on Moorebank Avenue, please follow the direction of traffic controllers and adhere to reduced speed limits and changed traffic signs. Motorists may experience minor delays.

Access to Joint Logistics Unit, Import Export Terminal and Chatham Avenue will be provided via traffic signals from the detour road. Left turn in and left turn out driveway access to Piccolo Me café will be maintained.

There will be no pedestrian or cyclist access along the new diversion road. Pedestrian and cyclist access to Piccolo Me café will be maintained along the existing roadway between the Anzac Road intersection and Piccolo Me.

We apologise for any additional background noise and inconvenience this may cause.

All work will be completed in accordance with management plans approved by Transport for NSW and Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.

The Moorebank Avenue upgrade is due for completion by the end of 2022.

If you require further information or have any concerns, please feel free to contact SIMTA (Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance) on 1800 986 465 (24/7) or simta@elton.com.au
