Moorebank Precinct West Stage 3 update

General News
Tuesday 20th April 2021

The Independent Planning Commission (IPC) is now considering the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct West Stage 3 planning proposal.

The proposal seeks approval for the establishment of a works compound in the southern portion of the western allotment, associated ancillary works, subdivision of the site, and the importation of clean fill material.

In March, the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) assessed the proposal as being in the public interest and recommended the proposal should be approved, subject to detailed conditions. As Liverpool City Council objected to the proposal, the matter was then referred to the IPC for final determination.

Community members now have their final chance to have a say on the proposal, which the IPC has placed on public exhibition.

To learn more about the proposal and make a formal submission, click here to visit the IPC’s dedicated project pageThe deadline for public submissions is 6 pm Monday 26 April.

The IPC will consider community submissions when deciding whether to approve the proposal.

An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been prepared to inform assessment of the proposal. This document provides a comprehensive overview of the proposal and its potential impacts.

The Stage 3 proposal builds on development consent previously granted as part of Stage 1 and Stage 2, which included land remediation, bulk earthworks, construction and operation of an intermodal terminal, warehousing, container storage, rail link and internal road infrastructure.
