Weekend rail signalling work

CPB contractors, as part of construction for the SIMTA rail link, will be carrying out out-of-hours signalling work throughout the second weekend of November.

Crews will be working in the railway corridor at Casula from 5pm on Friday November 9 until 7am on Monday November 12. The work is to prepare for commissioning new signalling at the junction of the SIMTA rail link with the Southern Sydney Freight Line.

The work has been planned to reduce impacts on nearby residents, but those in the vicinity of Leacocks Lane may hear some noise from the work and may be able to see light from the floodlights that will be used during night-time hours. Residents within that affected area will also receive notice of this work in their letter box.

Equipment to be used includes light vehicles, a rail crane, artificial lighting and hand tools.

The work has been scheduled for during a Sydney Trains trackwork weekend to reduce the impact on rail customers.
