Out of Hours helicopter lifting program – 21 August 2022

Out of hours work will be carried out at SIMTA’s Moorebank Intermodal Terminal worksite on Sunday 21 August between 7.30am and 3.30pm, weather permitting.

SIMTA contractor, QuadSol will be undertaking a program of helicopter lifting to deliver plant and equipment to the rooftop of two warehouses at the precinct.

The works will take place at Moorebank Precinct East (east of Moorebank Avenue) and involve short helicopter lifts within the site, lowering, and delivery of solar panel loads and related equipment. Refuelling will also be undertaken as required.

This work has been scheduled outside of weekday construction hours for safety reasons as the rest of the site must be closed during the helicopter lifts.

What to expect

This work will create additional background noise.

The contractor will make every effort to minimise noise generation and disturbance to nearby residents and businesses as much as practically possible, however nearest properties in Wattle Grove are likely to experience periods of noise impacts due to the nature and location of the helicopter lifts.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Moorebank Avenue will remain open at all times. Any proposed traffic associated with the helicopter lifting activity will be minimal. Delivery will be made to the site prior to the commencement of lifting operations.
