Notification of pedestrian footpath closure on Moorebank Avenue

Current Works
Wednesday 7th April 2021

Pedestrian footpath access along Moorebank Ave will soon change while road upgrade works are completed as part of the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal development.

The existing footpath along the western side of Moorebank Ave will be closed from Wednesday 14 April (see map here).

The existing footpath on the opposite side of the road is available for pedestrian use between Anzac Rd and Piccolo Me café. No pedestrian access will be possible along Moorebank Ave between Piccolo Me café and Cambridge Ave to the south for the duration of the road upgrade.

Construction of a temporary detour road adjacent to the west of Moorebank Ave has commenced, with works expected to be completed by August 2021. This detour road will provide vehicle access between the Anzac Rd and Chatham Ave.

Traffic controllers and temporary traffic lights are now in place opposite the entry to our project’s import/export rail terminal and will remain while the upgrade is completed.

The upgrade of Moorebank Ave is being completed to provide road users with a less disruptive and safer journey. The upgrade includes the widening from one lane to two in each direction, and new permanent traffic signals will also be installed at the existing site entry and new entry adjacent to the Target warehouse on the eastern side of the road.

The Moorebank Avenue upgrade is due for completion by the end of 2022.

If you require further information or have any concerns, please feel free to contact SIMTA (Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance) on 1800 986 465 (24/7) or simta@elton.com.au
