Emergency traffic signal repair on Moorebank Avenue

Current Works
Wednesday 14th April 2021

Emergency work to repair the traffic signals at the intersection of Moorebank Avenue and Chatham Avenue will be completed on Friday 16 April.

To allow the work to be completed, between 10 am and 3 pm the intersection will operate under manual control, with traffic controllers stationed on Moorebank Avenue to direct the movement of vehicles in all directions.

For the safety of all, if you are travelling on Moorebank Avenue during this period, please take extra precaution and follow all road signage and directions. Road users may experience delays.

The timing of the signals, which are owned and operated by Roads and Maritime Services, has been malfunctioning this past week, causing traffic delays on Moorebank Avenue.

RMS confirmed the signals were faulty on Monday, following the reporting of the incident by SIMTA contractors.

While it is not SIMTA’s responsibility to repair the signals, the decision has been made to do so to ensure the quickest possible resolution of the issue for all road users.

The required approvals have been obtained from Transport for NSW to complete this work.

If you require further information or have any concerns, please feel free to contact SIMTA (Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance) on 1800 986 465 (24/7) or simta@elton.com.au
